Community Health

Community health programs are designed to educate and support Hāna District residents in adopting and maintaining healthy lifestyles. Services include general health screenings through Health Fairs, Well Women’s Clinics, and Immunization Clinics, Food as Medicine programs and assistance with health insurance coverage and other entitlement services.

The Hāna Fresh Farm Stand, located on the health center grounds, provides the community with access to fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, along with healthy prepared foods and snacks.

Eating behaviors and meal habits formed in childhood have a lasting impact on food preferences and lifelong health. To nurture these healthy habits early, Hāna Fresh partners with Hāna High and Elementary School to provide elementary students with fresh fruit and vegetable snackboxes twice a week, encouraging children to choose nourishing foods over less healthy options. This effort is part of Hāna Health’s long-standing Food as Medicine Program, which connects good food with good health.
